Drill-Down & Analysis
Drill-down turns any chart into an interactive analysis surface. Apply filters, inspect the matching rows, get AI-generated insights, and revisit earlier states. All without leaving the dashboard.
Entering Analyze mode
Select Analyze from the dashboard navigation, then choose a chart to open the drill-down overlay. The overlay is organized into tabs so you can move between filtering, results, history, chat, and analysis.
Filter types
Drill-down supports several filter types, which you can combine to narrow your data precisely:
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Numeric range | Restrict a numeric column to a minimum and maximum value. |
| Category | Select or deselect specific categories or groups to include. |
| Temporal | Limit results to a time window. |
| Text | Match rows by searching for a string in a column. |
| Percentile range | Keep only values that fall within a percentile band. |
Active filters appear as tags so you can always see exactly what is applied.
Reviewing results
As you filter, the results tab shows the row-level data matching your current selection. This makes it easy to confirm what a chart is actually built from and to spot the specific records behind a trend.
AI chart analysis
The analysis tab generates insights about the selected chart and the filters you have applied. Surfacing patterns, outliers, and takeaways you might otherwise miss. You can also ask follow-up questions about the filtered view directly within drill-down.
History
Every drill-down operation is recorded. The history tab lets you revisit previous filter states, compare different cuts of the data, and step back to an earlier view without rebuilding it.
